What would happen to people if they could no longer depend on supermarkets for food?Are we as humans contributing to our own demise?Not many people understand the ideal of growing there own food or even how to hunt for animals or fish for that matter.This is something I feel everyone should know an understand to be able to take care of yourself "IF" something was to happen. Now i'm not going to go writing about "how to" do any of these things, But I do feel it's something that should be talked about.People don't realize the reality of how far food must travel to reach the store in which we buy it.Nor Do they get the ideal that "IF" gas prices rise too much food prices WILL also rise.So an ideal I have had for some time is to grow a garden. It doesn't have to be huge, but just something just in case something was to happen.As I always say it's better to have it and not need it then to need it an not have it.Most people in our time live a total disposable life style. An what I mean by this is, If they want food they go buy it, Not many people buy for long term food needs. An by long term i'm just saying a few weeks worth of food. But like I said most folks now live day to day an buy things as needed,Which I myself find very troubling.People have no Idea of such things such as "X class" solar flares which could knock out power to grids around the world, or perhaps a EMP blast going off an also killing the power grid. If we have no power things just wont work,No gas pumps will work,water may not come from the tap, cause all water works are now computer operated, an if there's no power there no computers.It's things of this nature more people should be aware of.No one seems to be teaching basic skills like what i'm talking about. Today's youth learn more about computers, then about true life sustaining things.Which are in my own opinion are essential for life it's self an something EVERYONE should know how to do.Not many people even know that you can store things underground to keep them cool,An this is another thing people should all know.Just simple things that should be common knowledge is not being talked about or even taught in schools anymore, an in my personal opinion should be.I feel these are things folks should know cause there is no guarantee that there will always be power to provide people with basic needs.Far too long have we become dependent on the way we are living now,an no one realizes how easy it could all be gone in just 1 instant.All it would take is 1 simple mistake to throw this way of life into chaos, leaving many people with no idea of what to do or where to begin. I like to bring up things like this to awaken people to new ideals an to encourage more people to think about things,Instead of living this disposable lifestyle we are all accustom to.For folks with children I hope this gives you something to teach them, an also can be a way to bond with your kid's. I do hope this raises peoples attention to these ideals an to perhaps make life a little more easier. An as always may love an peace find you............
